Busbar & Cable Management

Busbar trunking system

Busbar trunking systems from 100 A to 6300 A, sandwich or air-insulated, with IP rating and short-circuit withstand matched to the riser design. Joint continuity, temperature-rise data and the tap-off box range are checked against the declaration.

Cable tray & ladder

Perforated tray, ladder and wire-mesh systems in hot-dip galvanised, pre-galvanised or stainless finish. Load-deflection tables, coating thickness and the earthing continuity of the whole run are verified rather than assumed from the brochure.

Cable trunking & conduit

Sheet-steel trunking, wiring duct and rigid or flexible conduit for control and distribution circuits. Wall thickness, ingress protection and the fire-resistance class claimed for a specific route are read back against test evidence.

Where the verification effort goes on busbar and tray

Busbar substitution turns on four groups of parameters: rated current and conductor cross-section, short-circuit withstand including its dynamic and thermal duty, IP rating against the real installation environment (riser, outdoor, humid), and joint construction. Busway is sold by length and bend, so the per-metre figure on a quotation is almost never the final price — straight runs, elbows, flanges, tap-off boxes and end feed units are priced separately, and the lengths get re-measured on site.

The joint is where these systems fail most often. Plating on the copper contact surfaces, bolt torque, and the material and ageing behaviour of the insulating block together decide whether the temperature rise holds over years. Read the scope line of the temperature-rise report to see whether it covers a standard straight section or the full run including joints. The tray side concentrates its risk in load and corrosion: whether the deflection table is stated for your actual span, coating thickness (65 μm is the common hot-dip minimum), and the re-zincing procedure used after cutting on site.

Earthing and equipotential bonding is the part most often left out: continuity where the enclosure itself acts as the PE conductor, the links between successive sections, and the overall earth impedance once the run is bonded to the tray system.

The method from there is the site standard: the free 48-hour initial screen returns a go / hold / walk verdict; Spec Match reverse-engineers the parameters and shortlists factories whose line genuinely covers them; Remote Audit reads tooling, coating process and test records at the works. You pay us and no commission flows from any factory, stated in writing.

Supply-base view

Busway and tray: the upstream is on the same street

This class is sold by the metre and priced by the joint. China is both a primary producer of the conductor metals and the largest demand market for what they become.

01

Upstream on home ground

Around 70–80% of a busway's cost is copper or aluminium bar plus insulation, and China is the largest producer of both copper and aluminium products. Conductor, insulation, enclosure and coating supply sit within the same industrial belt, which is what makes rapid re-engineering possible in this class.

02

A settled product structure

Sandwich-type (compact) busway is the mainstream construction in the domestic market, and domestic manufacturers hold roughly 70% of it. Data centres, renewables and industrial plants are the three fastest-growing end uses.

03

Quotation discipline is the real risk

Straight runs, elbows, flanges, tap-off boxes and end-feed units are priced separately, and lengths get re-measured on site — the per-metre figure on a quotation is almost never the final price. The joint is where failures live: plating on the copper contact surfaces, bolt torque and the ageing behaviour of the insulating block together decide whether the temperature rise holds over years.

04

What the report has to say

Whether the temperature-rise report covers a standard straight section or the full run including joints; whether the tray deflection table is stated for your actual span; and the re-zincing procedure after cutting on site, since 65 μm is the usual hot-dip minimum.

Send the run, not the metre price

A single-line layout, or a bill of quantities with bends and tap-offs, is enough to start. We return one verdict on the supplier within 48 hours and one core reason, then check joint construction, coating process and test records against the works.

Equipment sourcing FAQ

How do you tell a real factory from a trading office?
We cross-check the business-licence scope, social-insurance headcount, and customs filing. A "manufacturer" with two insured staff and no production-equipment records is almost always a trader reselling someone else's unit. We also look at whether the address is an industrial park or a serviced office.
Can you match a specific brand or model to the right manufacturer?
Yes. Send us the brand and model, or just a nameplate photo, and we reverse-engineer the key parameters: rated voltage, impedance, cooling class, protection grade. Then we shortlist Chinese manufacturers whose product line genuinely covers those parameters. This is the Spec Match tier.
Can you negotiate on my behalf?
Yes. The Procurement Execution and Remote Audit tiers include independent negotiation support, and On-Site Verification covers the physical checks; either way, we sit on your side of the table, not the factory's.
Do you take commissions from factories?
Never. We're paid only by you, on a flat fee. When we name an alternative supplier, we state in writing that we have no financial relationship with it. No referral fees, no kickbacks, no revenue share. Our only incentive is that your deal closes.
